Today, Cygni is a thought leader in the Stationary Energy Storage and EV battery space. It works with some of the top OEMs, Telecom companies and solar EPC players in the country.

This Role: Storage is now becoming an important household appliance as customers try to achieve higher energy independence in a cost effective and safe manner. Cygni has developed a wide range of products to serve this need such as Home UPS batteries, All-in-one hybrid inverter and battery solutions, LV storage products for small households. This role will carry the mandate of growing this portfolio through strong go-to-market partnerships and helping the company scale Cygni’s residential and Micro & Small C&I BESS business, one of the fastest-growing segments in India’s energy transition.

Responsibilities:


  1. Solar EPC partnerships (Residential Installer Network)
    • Build deep B2B partnerships with national / regional Solar EPC players with a strong presence in residential and small C&I space.
    • Develop strong partnerships with leading residential solar installers, such as Solar square, Freyr Energy Oorjan Cleantech, ZunRoof, Sunshot Technologies etc
    • Drive adoption of BESS as a standard add-on to rooftop solar
  2. Distribution and OEM/ODM partnerships with large, established consumer electrical or electronics players
    • Partner with leading solar brands to offer white-label / ODM BESS solutions, including Havells, Goldi Solar, Rayzon Solar, Premier Energies, Vikram Solar, Adani Solar, RenewSys etc
    • Develop scalable channel-led business models through these brands
  3. Channel & Distribution Partnerships
    • Build and scale partnerships with hybrid inverter distributors such as Loom Solar, Vashi Integrated Solutions etc.
    • Target and build and scale relationships with Distributors of Solis, Deye, Growatt, GoodWe, Sungrow etc.
    • Position Cygni’s BESS solutions as a preferred bundled offering within their ecosystem
  4. Hybrid Inverter ODM Ecosystem
    • Build relationships with global and domestic hybrid inverter ODMs, including Feston, Flynn, Voltronic Power, SRNE, Must Energy, Sofar Solar, Kehua etc.
    • Enable integration and co-development of storage-ready solutions
  5. Business Ownership (P&L)
    • Own full P&L responsibility for the residential and Micro/Small C&I segment
    • Drive: Revenue growth, Gross margins and cost optimization, Channel profitability and scale
  6. Go-To-Market Strategy
    • Define and execute pricing, positioning, and channel strategy
    • Identify high-potential geographies and customer segments
    • Develop bundled offerings (solar + storage + inverter ecosystems)
  7. Product & Application Development - Work closely with engineering and product teams to:
    • Customize solutions for residential and small C&I use cases
    • Integrate with hybrid inverter ecosystems
    • Improve installation simplicity and user experience
  8. Marketing and Lead generation
    • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, campaigns, and drive Cygni’s participation in relevant forums
    • Collaborate to create marketing strategies that resonate with the target audience
  9. Team management and coaching
    • Actively manage the Sales team including pipeline management, lead prioritization through a structured CRM
    • Coaching and mentoring of Sales team to improve conversion and quota achievement

Professional qualifications:

    • Engineering undergraduate (Electrical / Electronics preferred)
    • MBA or Masters in Engineering is a plus
    • 10 to 15 years of proven experience of successfully delivering on sales targets
    • Experience of dealing with various Solar EPC players/ System Integrators (SI) / Solar Inverter related business development
    • Basic understanding of Lithium Ion battery in various applications is a plus
    • Demonstrable experience of scaling a products business
